Dispatch Location: We ship items directly from our local warehouses located in the US and the European Union.

Warranty Policy

Replacing Instead of Repairing:

All Chessnut chessboard products are backed by a limited warranty. Please note that we do not offer repair services. If a covered defect occurs within the warranty period, the affected product will be replaced with an equivalent new product.

European Union (EU): 2-year limited warranty and complimentary technical support.
Other Regions (including US): 1-year limited warranty.

In the case of a covered warranty defect, Chessnut will, at its discretion:

(A) Replace the product with an equivalent new product; or
(B) Provide a partial or full refund based on the product's depreciation and usage, in exchange for the return of the product.

Return Shipping for Warranty Claims:

Unless otherwise required by local consumer law, the customer is responsible for the shipping costs to return the defective item to our designated facility. Chessnut will cover the shipping costs to send the replacement device back to you.

Exclusions:

This warranty does not apply to damages resulting from misuse, accidental damage, liquid damage, or intentional harm. Additionally, the warranty is completely void if the product has been altered, opened, or repaired by unauthorized parties.

Warranty Policy for Replaced Devices:

If your product is replaced, the warranty for the replacement product will start from the date of the replacement. The new warranty period will be either 90 days or the remaining time of the original warranty, whichever is longer.

Extended Warranty Option:

Customers may purchase a 2-year extended warranty service at checkout. This extends the coverage to a total of 4 years for the EU, or 3 years for other regions, covering free replacements under the same terms.

Well crafted pieces, but lacking in weight and quality finish

The pieces are well crafted, especially the knights, which are some of the best knights I've seen. Outstanding. The other pieces are well crafted, but they should be heavier, especially the king and queen. Presumably some of the space that is normally used for weighting the pieces is taken by the light-weight sensors. The finishing is incomplete on some of the pieces, in particularly the top of the finials of the rooks had not been polished, meaning that area is a different shade to the rest of the piece. You can see the difference in finish in the white queens in the photo, the Chessnut queen is on the left and other premium queen on right. The black pieces are quite pale and not polished. I beeswaxed mine to correct this. I also used Indian Rosewood dye to darken the pieces first, to make them look like Sheesham Staunton pieces. They look great now, but it shouldn't be up to me to correct the pieces. The price for premium pieces is a little high, compared to other premium pieces elsewhere, although you do get the sensors included and the postage is high to the UK, not Chessnut's fault. Overall, very nice pieces, which can easily be improved by a little work. It's hard to find premium pieces that you can use with Chessnut boards, so I think it's a good purchase.

Chessnut pro and pro pieces

first i bought the chessnut pro board.
I wanted to use my own pieces which were weigted with lead.
I drilled holes into the bottem.also i bought the sensors.i inserted the sensors in the holes and put the pieces on the board however it did not work.
I removed the sensor and put it back on the board and it did work.So i think the sensors do not work wit the rest of the lead inside the pieces.
Because i wanted to use the board i ordered the chessnut pro pieces which are beautiful.The only thing is that my own pieces are much heavy er

The knight design is the best I've seen among the others. The pieces are large, but they're perfect for the Chessnuts Pro board. The relation between the size of the pieces and the size of the board square is perfect.
