For the moneys worth your not gonna find a better e-board option. Honestly I love this board, my only regret is not spending the extra money to get the evo or pro cause I am now a chessnut convert.

And the shipping was great to. I'm in Canada and thought it might take a few weeks and I got my board within 3 days :)

My first chess computer. It works extremely well and my expectations were met. The lights are bright and can easily be seen. The delivery went perfectly and everything arrived in perfect shape.

It’s a great product (Chess-nut air). Works 100%. Best price on the market. No issues faced whatsoever. Good battery life. Only thing you need to be aware of is sliding piece forward. If you are not quick enough the first square the pice touches will be the move played. For example if I played e4 sliding the pawn forward the move that is played might be e3. That is why you need to pick the pieces up instead of sliding them. I find this as a good thing because it makes sure there is no delay when playing online.

The Chessnut Air is a great board. I own multiple chess computers but this is by far my favorite board. The price is great for what you get. The bottom and sides are made out of a solid piece of wood or it at least looks like it. It also has a nice weight to it which makes it feel great to move it around or have it on your lap while you play.

The playing field and pieces are made from plastic, but they both look great. The pieces -especially the
black ones almost look like wood due to some texture in the plastic. They have some weight to it to make them feel nice when moving them over the board.

The board has full piece recognition which you normally only see on the more expensive boards. This works great when setting up a custom board!

I absolutely love the fact that I can play the bots on Chess.com. I don't know any other chess computer that supports that. I can also play in correspondence mode which is my preffered game mode.

Due to this board I took a paid subscription on Chess.com so I can play any bot I like.

The Bluetooth LE connects fast and is very stable.

If you are looking for an affordable chess computer and plan to use Chess.com or Lichess then this is the board to buy!

I also would like to say that Chessnut has given me the best support I ever got in my life. My first board unfortunately was not working properly. After contacting support they asked me a few questions and I also showed a video of the problem. They proceeded sending me a replacement board the same day! The were very friendly and after I received the replacement board they even contacted me to ask if I indeed received the board and if all was ok. The new board is working great.

This is a great invention and I love playing on it which is why I give it five stars .. but I have to be honest about the little snags you may have to overcome which nevertheless would not have stopped me buying it. First, I had problems getting Bluetooth to hook up to my Android (clearing the Bluetooth cache on the phone did the trick, found on YouTube). Connecting to Lichess and Chess.com was OK through the Chessnut app... but I find i have to reboot the board from game to game.. can't just finish one game on Chess.com then start another as all the board LEDs start lighting up all over the place even after replacing pieces .. Also I found that when recharging, the red light NEVER goes green which is a bit worrying (too far to send it back from the UK) ... Chessnut say it may be a glitch in the light and say three to four hours is enough after red flashing. They said I should be able to check the charging status on "software" . I wasn't sure what that was but when you hook the board up on the Chessnut app a 'Bluetooth' screen does show you a battery icon. I don't mind the plastic pieces too much but the finishing isn't great on Black and I might try to replace. In some ways I wish I'd ordered the sensor chips too ($40). Maybe an option to buy the set with chips only would be good. On Chess.com there's no sound when the other person resigns.. the clocks just stop. I couldn't even find the resign button on my phone screen, still it is an old phone. There's no sound at all when it happens. These are all just snags that could maybe have been ironed out before going on market. But overall this is a brilliant game changer at an affordable price for an across the board experience online. I try not to look at my phone but you have to check the clock. it would be great if there was an option to view clocks only. As for support, the website Chat box is good and someone called Katherine always patiently responds to my queries. This chess set was a great birthday gift.
